I note the running route at All-Star resorts but to make it more interesting, I was wondering if I am able to route through the different resorts. Is this possible to do without passing through locked gates or do I need my pass key to go through?

Hi there, Matt, and welcome to planDisney!

It's always a pleasure to help a fellow Mouseketeer log their magical miles during a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. I'm so glad you stopped by with your question!

As you mentioned, Disney's All-Star Resorts feature a 1-mile jogging trail that connects the three uniquely themed hotels. I always love adding a bit of extra distance to this particular route by winding through the Resorts to enjoy the larger-than-life icons scattered among the buildings. Disney's All-Star Movies is home to my favorites: Pongo, Perdita, and some of Andy's beloved toys.

Of course, there are so many fun things to see in The Most Magical Place on Earth, so if you'd like a change of scenery during your vacation, I'm happy to share that several Disney Resort hotels have jogging trails of varying distances. Since Walt Disney World's complimentary bus transportation does not run between hotels, you'll need to utilize a rideshare (like Minnie Van Service) if you won't have access to a vehicle during your vacation. When arriving at a Disney Resort hotel by car, you'll pass through a security gate and will be asked for identification as well as the reason for your visit. When Guests don't have a hotel or dining reservation to validate entry, entrance to the Resort hotel is permitted at individual Cast Member discretion based upon factors such as the time of day and current number of Guests at the Resort, so it's important to keep in mind that non-reservation based entry isn't guaranteed.

If you decide you'd like to try visiting another Disney Resort hotel, my two favorite trails connect Disney's Caribbean Beach and Riviera Resorts around Barefoot Bay and wind along the Sassagoula River at Disney's Port Orleans Resorts. In addition to scenic courses, these Resorts are also home to practically perfect post-run treats — coffee and pastries from Le Petit Café and beignets at Port Orleans - French Quarter!

I hope this information helps you plan for your upcoming visit, Matt. If you need any additional assistance, don't hesitate to stop back by planDisney. We're happy to help!
