Hiya Torsten,
Welcome to planDisney! Every time I land at Orlando International Airport, a giant smile spreads across my face because that means my magical trip is finally happening. My Prince Charming knows that means I will be dancing at baggage claim and forgetting all about any travel delays I experienced. As Mickey Mouse says, “Nothing Can Stop Us Now!”
Now, before I break out into song, let’s chat about the best way to get from Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World Resort. If you are staying at one of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, you have a few options available to you. Since pricing changes, I am not able to provide pricing information, but I can hopefully provide you with a range of affordability. In my experience, the most cost-effective option is to use Mears Connect for a shuttle (typically less than $20 one-way per person). We like this option because we have small children under four years old, so we can avoid traveling with our car seats. It also happens to be fairly quick, so we don’t feel like we are spending a ton of time traveling to the resort. If you prefer a more private transportation option, then you can also do a traditional rideshare service like Uber or Lyft, or rent a car. Since Orlando International Airport is a large hub, you generally do not have to wait long for either option, but they cost more than Mears Connect. The final option I have is the most expensive, but since this is a vacation, you may just want to “treat yourself.” The
Minnie Van Service is one of my favorite transportation options because it is private, provides up to 2 car seats for little ones, and is driven by Cast Members. I always have a great time in the Minnie Van, and when I’m at Walt Disney World Resort, I always splurge a little on at least one ride. This summer, they introduced Minnie Van airport service to Guests staying at a Deluxe Resort! So if you are staying at one, you may want to look into this. The cost is currently just under $250 one-way (subject to change), but it may be worth it to you. If you want to schedule a Minnie Van, you will need to do so in advance through
Disney Signature Services.
I hope this was helpful, Torsten. I know you are planning to visit during Valentine’s Day, so I wanted to remind you to keep an eye on
Disney Parks Blog as we get closer to February. Every year, there are exclusive treats and experiences to commemorate the month of February, and you can find out what those are on Disney Parks Blog. I always like to take a peek so I can plan out my trips accordingly. If you need anything else, please come back and see us.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
