Ahoy there, Cory, and welcome back to planDisney! You’re about to head to one of my favorite ports of call, so I’m more than happy to help with this question.
I love that you’re already planning ahead for your adventure. For safety, Guests are weighed at the Port Adventure check-in before parasailing. If the scale reading reveals that you don’t meet the stated requirement, you unfortunately won’t be able to participate, but rest assured, you won’t lose your money. At that point, you can work with the Port Adventure Cast Member on site and Guest Services onboard regarding a refund adjustment.
Here are a few more helpful tips for now and later to help you think through your options:
- Check the details in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app (or your reservation on
DisneyCruise.com). The parasailing page lists the current weight requirements and other important notes.
- If you’re close to the limit, stop by the Port Adventures Desk or Guest Services on Day 1. Let them know your concern, and they can further review the guidelines and options with you.
- On the day of the adventure, final eligibility is confirmed at check-in. If you’re unable to go, ask the Cast Member there to note it, then visit Guest Services so they can assist with the appropriate refund.
Don’t worry if parasailing doesn’t work out; Castaway Cay has tons of fun, both on land and in the water. Our family always books the
Castaway Cay Getaway Package, which provides you with a snorkel, float, and bike for the day. My daughter also insists on visiting
Castaway Ray’s Stingray Adventure every time we visit to explore the fun under the water and meet some of its inhabitants. So whether you’re looking for a chill day or some active play, you’ll find something for everyone in your travel party.
I know your time at Castaway Cay will be filled with magical adventures. Remember, we’re always here at
planDisney ready to help if any more questions come up!
Bon voyage,
Sami
