Hi Devin!
Welcome to planDisney! As a mom of three, I know that there is a lot to think about when planning your vacation. My first Disney trips as a breastfeeding and pumping mom had me feeling a bit nervous as I worried about the logistics of traveling with breast milk and managing feeding and pumping schedules in the parks. However, I'm happy to share that I found Walt Disney World Resort to be wonderfully accommodating over the years!
First, let me say that I think your whole family is going to love
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! My toddler had the best time running around the Cars section of the resort since Lightning McQueen is one of his absolute favorite characters. Plus, the
Disney Skyliner offers convenient transportation to both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. My kids often forget that it's a mode of transportation and refer to it as one of their favorite rides! I’d also suggest planning some pool time at the resort, as you'll surely want to "just keep swimming" in
The Big Blue Pool.
Devin, the fun theming found throughout the resort continues to your room, along with comfortable accommodations. Inside your room, you’ll find a
beverage cooler available. While this is a great option for keeping sodas or water cool, it won’t be suitable for freezing breast milk. I spoke with a Cast Member who confirmed that you can contact the Front Desk of your resort to discuss available options for properly storing your breast milk during your stay. Since this typically involves Cast Members storing and freezing for you at Bell Services, you'll want to make sure you have containers that can be labeled and waterproof bags for easy handling.
When you're visiting the parks, don't forget that
Baby Care Centers are available for use throughout the day. Each center features a dedicated space for nursing and/or pumping - complete with electrical outlets if needed for your pump. Additionally, you'll find comfortable changing tables, baby essentials for sale, and much more! The Cast Members at these locations have been very helpful over the years as we've navigated our Disney days with infants and toddlers in the parks. It's also important to note that if you need to keep breast milk chilled while in the park, you can
bring a small cooler (smaller than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high) and reusable ice packs, as loose or dry ice is not allowed.
I hope this information has been helpful, Devin, and that you enjoy a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World Resort this summer! As you continue to plan your visit, you may find some of the
videos in our planDisney library helpful. Of course, you've also got a friend in me and my panelist pals, so please stop by to see us again with any other questions!
To Infinity and Beyond!
