Hey Katie,
Welcome back to planDisney! This is a great question and I'm glad you're here for answers. Starting the planning process for your Walt Disney World Resort holiday now is super smart. Not only will you feel great about having your plans so well laid out way ahead of your holiday, but you will also benefit from being able to pay a small deposit on your trip and making
incremental payments over time. This helps with budgeting so much and makes the expense way more digestible for your wallet.
You'll be happy to learn that you can add either
dining plan to your resort vacation package after you've booked it. According to my fellow planDisney panelist Emma in her
answer to a similar question, you will need to do this at least 8 days prior to your arrival date. To update your vacation package, you can either log into your
My Disney Experience account and modify your package or you can
call the resort and ask a cast member for help.
The dining plans are such a smart way to experience all the deliciousness the resort has to offer. There are so many fantastic
dining experiences on property that you really can't go wrong with either package. I know you're a Disney World pro, but a few of my favorite dining locations are
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' in Disney Springs if you're in the mood for comfort food and
Satu'li Canteen in Animal Kingdom if you like a tasty rice or noodle bowl. Remember to mark your calendar for 60 days prior to your arrival date if you plan to use the table service plan so that you can book your reservations.
I hope this information is helpful, Katie. If you need any additional help with planning come on back and let us know. See ya real soon!
