We are planning one day in Epcot and one day in Magic kingdom during the week during January at no event days marathon cheer etc. what are the typical hours? Trying to decide which day to attend which park and make dining reservations.

    Hey Patricia!

Welcome to planDisney. I’m so excited you're planning a January trip! Honestly, January is like one of Disney's best-kept secrets. The weather is usually gorgeous, all the holiday buzz has died down, and the parks just feel more... breathable, you know? It's such a nice change of pace.

Plus, you're going to be there during the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, which is hands down one of my absolute favorite festivals! The art, the food studios, the Disney on Broadway performances… It's all absolutely magical! I could spend hours just wandering around, looking at all the installations and trying all the amazing food.

So here's the deal with park hours: Disney hasn't released the official schedule for your dates yet, which I know can be a little frustrating when you're trying to plan everything out. But don't worry! Both EPCOT and Magic Kingdom typically have pretty generous hours, so you'll have plenty of time to do everything on your list.

The best way to stay on top of it is to keep checking the Hours & Events Calendar on the Walt Disney World website or just pop into the My Disney Experience app every now and then. Currently, it’s showing the times about two months ahead, so in a few weeks, your dates should be live!

Can I share a little trick I always use? When I'm planning an EPCOT day, I love to schedule a relaxing dinner somewhere in World Showcase, maybe grab some wine in France or tacos and margs in Mexico, and then time it so I can catch the nighttime show after. It's just perfect. And for Magic Kingdom? Get there early! Those morning hours when the park first opens are absolutely magical, and you can knock out so many of the big attractions before the crowds really roll in.

Just keep your eyes peeled for those hours to drop, and then you can book your dining reservations with total confidence, knowing exactly how your days will flow.

I have such a good feeling about your January trip - it's going to be amazing! The parks in January just hit different, you know?

Wishing you a magical visit, and please don't hesitate to come back and see us if you want any more planning tips, or if you need a few more dining recs!

    See ya real soon,
