Hello Shirley,
Welcome to planDisney! It’s wonderful chatting with a fellow
Disney Vacation Club Member, thank you for bringing your question about DVC Points here today. I’m happy to assist!
One thing my family really loves about our Disney Vacation Club Membership is its flexibility. Over the past twelve years, we’ve stayed at many DVC resorts (including DVC Beach resorts) and are looking forward to many more visits in the future. Your Disney Vacation Club Points can be used for a reservation at any Disney Vacation Club Resort. Members can also convert their
Vacation Points to Reservation Points and stay at a non-DVC resort so they many enjoy different resorts and use their Disney Vacation Club Points to explore new places. With the
Disney Collection exchange, DVC Members can stay at a variety of Disney resorts whether at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort or Disney Parks in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Paris.
When converting Points, it is important to note that there is a $95 conversion fee (subject to change) and the Points will remain in the current Use Year if the reservation is cancelled. The Rule of Four also applies: reservations must be made prior to the last four months of your Use Year (stays must be during that Use Year). If you are interested in moving your Vacation Points into Reservation Points, it is a good idea to check out the Points Charts and see what kind of accommodations you’d like. Guests can choose to stay at a Walt Disney World resort hotel and their Disney Vacation Club Points can also be used for Adventures by Disney and on a Disney Cruise.
A magical feature about the Disney Vacation Club Points is that Guests aren’t limited to using their Vacation Points solely on Disney destinations. Guests may also convert their Vacation Points to Reservation Points and participate in an
Interval International Exchange. (The conversion fee would also be applied here).
Shirley, I hope this information helps explain how to use your DVC Points to stay at a Disney hotel. If you have any more DVC or vacation planning questions, please revisit us at
planDisney. We’re happy to help!
Welcome Home,
Candace
