Hi Deborah, and welcome back to planDisney! I love meeting rarer characters at Disney World, like my favorite, Duffy the Disney Bear. So I’d be happy to chat about meeting Jiminy Cricket the next time you’re at the Most Magical Place on Earth.
I was excited to see that some special friends have been making appearances at
Hollywood Studios recently, like Jiminy Cricket and Pinocchio! Unfortunately, there’s no way to tell when they’ll be making their way back to Geppetto’s Workshop, but you can always look in the
My Disney Experience app to see if Jiminy Cricket is meeting that day. Go to the upside-down tear drop icon towards the bottom of the app and scroll through the icons at the top until you see Characters. I usually find it easiest to press Show List towards the bottom right corner to see all of the characters meeting that day. You can also filter by theme park to narrow the list to a specific location. I recommend checking in the morning, since the characters won’t show up in the app after their last meet and greet for the day.
Currently, that’s the most reliable way to see Jiminy Cricket, but he has also been known to pop up at special events like
Jollywood Nights,
Disney After Hours, Disney Vacation Club
Moonlight Magic, and on course during
runDisney races. However, those meet and greets aren’t typically announced ahead of time, so it’ll take a bit of luck to meet him at one of those events!
There are also a couple of other places where you can find Jiminy Cricket on a regular basis in Magic Kingdom. He’s usually walking between floats during the
Festival of Fantasy Parade. And in the evening, an animated Jiminy Cricket appears on the back of the final float to close out the
Disney Starlight parade. I watched this parade for the first time last month, and the sparkling floats are breathtaking!
