Hi, Julie! Welcome to planDisney.
Boma – Flavors of Africa is one of those breakfast spots that just keeps calling you back. It was the very first restaurant in Walt Disney World that I had breakfast at and so it occupies a special place in my heart. Located at
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, it’s known for its vibrant atmosphere and incredible buffet, where you’ll find everything from Mickey waffles and bacon to African-inspired dishes like bobotie, plus the legendary Jungle Juice (a tropical blend that somehow tastes like sunshine). It's definitely worth the early wake-up call!
Now, getting there from
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is a bit of a trek. You can use Disney transportation, but timing is key. Buses to
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park typically begin running about 45 minutes to an hour before park opening, which can vary depending on the day. An 8:00 a.m. reservation might be tricky using the park transfer method, especially if Disney's Animal Kingdom doesn’t open early that day. Once the park is open, you can transfer to a bus for Animal Kingdom Lodge. But for an early reservation, I’d personally recommend using a ride share like Lyft or Uber straight from your resort. There's an added expense, but it’s quick, easy, and stress-free.
After breakfast, take a little time to explore Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. It’s truly one of the most beautiful resorts on property. Head out to the savanna viewing areas where you can spot giraffes, zebras, and more just steps from the lobby. Just be careful: You may never want to leave!
