Aloha, Amy!
What can I say, except you're welcome here at planDisney! How wonderful that you enjoyed your Hawaiian adventure to
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. Our family visits Hawaii every year and we have been to Aulani many times. It is such a special experience when the magic of Disney meets the spirit of Aloha at this wonderful Disney Resort.
Amy, I called Aulani to see if I could get the recipe for you for the roasted tomato soup at
Makahiki Restaurant. Unfortunately, I was unable to get the exact recipe (after all, Mickey keeps some things close to his vest.) However, I did see the
ingredients on the menu, which include Hamakua tomatoes (locally sourced from the Big Island of Hawaii,) basil, and EVOO (olive oil). It is served with a sourdough fontina cheese melt.
I also did a quick online search for Hamakua tomatoes and for the Aulani Roasted Tomato Soup recipe. A few videos popped up with recipes for a similar soup. While it may not be the exact recipe served at Aulani, it might be close and worth trying so you can enjoy the taste of the islands and the magic of Disney at home.
I hope this helps you, Amy! If you have any further Disney vacation planning questions, surf back here to see us. At planDisney, you are part of our 'ohana. 'Ohana means family, and that means nobody gets left behind.
A Hui Hou (it means "until we meet again" in Hawaiian,)
