Hi Melanie, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. I’d be happy to help get your sister and her kids set up for their next visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth!
First, let’s talk about their
MagicBands. Once linked, MagicBands are connected to that person’s profile in My Disney Experience. So, if you've connected your managed guests to your sister's account, there's nothing else you need to do for the kids' MagicBands.
It sounds like you may have already done this. If not, visit
Your Family & Friends List on the Disney World website and find your sister’s name under Connections. Click Edit Settings next to her name, and then the Connect My Managed Guests button. Check the boxes next to the kids’ names and then click Send Invite. Your sister will get an email inviting her to connect with her kids’ profiles.
If you’re having any issues, I’d recommend calling the
My Disney Experience phone number and a Cast Member would be happy to help troubleshoot!
Since you created the kids' profiles, your account is the only one where you'll see them under Guests You Manage and where you can view their MagicBands. However, once your sister is connected to your managed guests, she'll be able to plan on their behalf, like link tickets and activity reservations. For instance, she can book the kids' Lightning Lane selections and then they can scan in with the MagicBands you previously linked to their profiles. Similarly, I manage my nephew's profile under my account, but my sister makes plans for him through her account all the time.
Since the kids have the newer MagicBand+, I wanted to let you know that they unlock a lot of fun interactive games and surprises in the theme parks. Your sister’s kids might like looking for the different
Disney Fab 50 Character statues. Their bands will buzz and light up when they get close to one! There’s also a game,
Batuu Bounty Hunters in
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, where they can use their bands with the
Play Disney Parks app to hunt for bounties. The missions will take them all over Black Spire Outpost and are a great way to explore the land.
MagicBand+ will also vibrate and light up during the nighttime spectaculars, so be sure to keep them charged through the end of the day. Sometimes I’ll charge mine with a portable battery while I’m eating lunch or dinner to make sure they last until those evening shows. But if the battery does run out, Hakuna Matata! The MagicBands will still work for scanning into theme park and Lightning Lane entrances, opening your
Disney Resort hotel room door, and linking
PhotoPass pictures.
I hope this helps get your sister and her kids set up for their next Disney adventure! If you have any other questions, we’d love to have you back at planDisney.
