My son is obsessed with elephants. We will be going to Disney in November from Mon to Wed. Caring for Giants is available on Tues at 2pm and Wed at 9 am. We also want to do the safari at AK. Which time would be best to see elephants?

Jambo, Thuy, and thanks for stopping by planDisney! As a fellow Floridian and elephant lover, I'm excited for your son to experience the Caring for Giants tour at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Since you're within your booking window, let's discuss tips for going on this fabulous adventure!

My family recently took the Caring for Giants tour, and we had a blast! We learned fascinating facts about elephants, and I especially enjoyed getting a peek "backstage" at the theme park. My tips are to wear comfy shoes and take lots of photos of the pachyderms.

Since this tour is offered throughout the day, you can't choose a bad time. They fed a few of the elephants while we were there, and I suspect they stagger those snacks throughout the day, so you might be able to watch them dine up close.

In my experience, the animals you'll see on Kilimanjaro Safaris tend to be most active in the morning, so I recommend boarding the safari as soon as you arrive at the park. Book Caring for Giants in the afternoon, and while wildlife activity is always unpredictable, I feel the elephants will be ready to meet you. The fall weather should be pleasant in the afternoon, so the elephants probably won't be as affected by the heat as they would be in the summer months.

This Enchanting Extra often sells out, so my final tip is to secure your spots soon. Your son is going to be so excited! I called elephants "goggants" when I was a toddler, and I've loved them ever since.

Thuy, I hope you have a giant adventure on your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort trip. Thanks again for allowing planDisney to help you plan your visit. Like Dumbo, you and your son will be making history!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
