Hi Marilia, and welcome back to planDisney! The mosaic crafts are lots of fun and make for a unique Disney souvenir to take back home. Many
Disney resort hotels offer this activity, so let’s talk about your options!
The
Spanish Mosaic Art class you mentioned is exclusive to
Coronado Springs Resort and is the only one that can be booked on the Disney World website or through the
My Disney Experience app. Just a heads-up that it looks like you can only make reservations on the United States (English) Spanish Mosaic Art page and not the Brasil (Portugues) version. This activity, along with dining reservations and Enchanting Extras, can be booked
60 days in advance, which means you can already reserve this craft for your trip.
African Mosaic Art at
Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village can also be booked ahead of time by calling the
Tours and Recreation phone number (it looks like there’s only a U.S.-based phone number for this). It’s currently run on Tuesdays at 1:30 P.M. and there’s even the option to make a Simba mosaic!
Many other resort hotels also have mosaics specific to their theme. For instance, at the
Contemporary Resort, I made a five-legged goat mosaic inspired by the
mural near the monorail platform. In the past, I’ve also seen mosaic activities at All-Star Music Resort, Art of Animation Resort, Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, Beach Club Resort, Riviera Resort, and Saratoga Springs Resort. The schedule isn’t available online, but you can check the Resort Activities board when you get to each resort, typically found in the lobby. If you can’t find it, just ask a Cast Member! It’s generally recommended that you sign up in advance when you’re there, but walk-ins are also welcome if there’s room.
It takes about two hours to complete the mosaic craft, so make sure to budget enough time in your day! When you’re done, a Cast Member will give you a box to protect your mosaic while it fully dries (that can take several hours). I dropped mine off at my resort hotel room, but you could also
rent a locker if you're headed back to the parks.
Safe travels to Florida in August and I hope you have the most magical vacation ever! If you have any other questions, you’re always welcome at planDisney.
