We will be staying at Copper Creek Villas mid-June 2026. How obtrusive are the renovations going to be on our stay? Will we be able to enjoy the pools at all? Would it be worth it to look to stay somewhere else?

Hey there, Allison! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. It's always the best day ever when I get to chat with a fellow Midwesterner AND a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member, and I'll be happy to help with your question regarding your summer vacation at Walt Disney World Resort

Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is such a lovely spot! We are big fans of this DVC resort - it's so easy to get to Magic Kingdom Park, but it feels like a completely different world with Pacific Northwest vibes and beautiful scenery. It's one of the resorts where you could spend your entire vacation onsite and have the most incredible time!

There is a lot of work that goes into keeping the DVC properties in tip-top condition. This, of course, means that renovations and refurbishments occasionally overlap with vacation time. This work is planned to minimize disruptions to Guests' experience as much as possible by limiting construction to daytime hours and working in sections, so most amenities remain available. We stayed at a different resort last June while similar work was going on, and it honestly didn't disrupt our trip at all.

The current work at Copper Creek is an exterior refurbishment that is expected to last until late 2026. There is nothing listed about any pool closures at this time. Views from certain areas of the resort will likely be impacted, but at this point, it's hard to predict exactly where the work will be happening in June. You can contact Member Services to add a note to your reservation requesting that you be placed as far from the construction as possible. The Cast Members at the resort will do their best to honor this.

You can always check availability at Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, so you can still have the experience of Copper Creek minus the construction noise. I also really like the secluded feeling at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village, with the added bonus of watching the wildlife from the Savanna View villas!

Allison, I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes. If our planDisney squad can help with any other questions about your June trip or any other Disney adventures, please reach out again anytime.

    Stay Magical!
