Hey there, Christopher, and a big warm welcome to planDisney!
I absolutely love this idea! An
Annual Pass is such a thoughtful and magical gift, and what a special way to surprise your wife. I can already picture her face when she realizes she can visit Walt Disney World Resort again and again. Talk about her very own happily ever after!
Here’s the great news: yes, you can gift an Annual Pass, and there’s a pretty smooth way to do it without ruining the surprise. I chatted with a Cast Member, and they confirmed that you can add the guest you’re purchasing the pass for to your
Friends & Family list in My Disney Experience. Then, once you’re ready to gift it, your wife can either create her own account or you can simply transfer the pass to her existing profile.
To activate it, she’ll present her ID, and if it’s a
Florida Resident Annual Pass, her own proof of residency. There’s also a way to verify FL residency online when you are going through the purchase process. Simply follow the prompts, and if you have all the information requested, you can take care of that for your wife, so it’s less to do once you get to the parks!
I might need to hear all about how you revealed this magical surprise! I can see it now: unwrapping her favorite character plushie, holding a special card with the news, or maybe you just drive in and walk her to the gate to give her the news in front of a
PhotoPass photographer so you can capture the moment! Whichever way you choose, I know it will be the most magical day ever!
Feel free to come back to see us to share the fun, and of course, if you have any additional questions or need planning tips, we’re always hEAR to help!
Happy plotting,
Emille
