Hi there, Meghan, and welcome to planDisney!
You are definitely in the right place to get the vacation planning party started, Meghan. I am happy to be your guide about how to book a Walt Disney World vacay. Let’s dive right in, shall we?
First, you are giving yourself plenty of time to start the planning. Yet, May will be here before we know it. You’ll want to first decide where you want to stay. There are many
Resort hotels to choose from at Disney World. Do you want to be a few steps away from your favorite theme park? Would you rather be more secluded? You’ll also want to consider how much you’d like to spend. The options seem endless, but answering those questions will help put you in the right direction.
AN EXTRA GEM: Staying on Disney property comes with many perks that definitely make all the difference for my family of four.
Early Theme Park Entry is a game-changer; being able to enter 30 minutes before the general public is a great headstart to your day. You also get complimentary bus transportation to the theme parks, the water parks, and
Disney Springs.
Better yet, you can create a vacation package by adding theme park tickets (and possible dining plan) to your hotel reservation. Having everything in one place in your My Disney Experience account makes it that much easier to see all of your plans. You can also make advance dining reservations and other
Enchanting Extras bookings online or with a Cast Member. You can make these reservations up to 60 days before your arrival date. If you want someone to do the planning from top to bottom for you, a third-party travel agent can help.
The theme parks are the real stars here. Magic Kingdom (the theme park with Cinderella Castle), EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom have surprises around every corner. Discover the rides and attractions in the
My Disney Experience app to get familiar with what each has to offer. If you’d like to skip some of the attractions’ longer lines, I suggest purchasing a
Lightning Lane Multi Pass and/or Single Pass up to 7 days before your vacation. It is very much worth it.
Meghan, I hope that this helps! The Cast Members at Disney World are The Most Magical people and they would be happy to assist you, too. You can call them using
this Disney hotline. If you’d like to hear more about my or the other panelists’ vacation experiences,
reach out to us at planDisney.
Magic always,
LeAndra
