Ahoy there, Lea! Thanks for taking the time to stop by planDisney. A big warm welcome to you!
You must be thrilled to be sailing on your upcoming Disney cruise in a couple of weeks! The last days of a vacation countdown can be full of enthusiasm and excitement, but it can also feel overwhelming, especially when it comes to packing. There are definitely
essentials and
vital documents that must be packed, but there are also
prohibited items that should be avoided. Unfortunately, liquors and spirits are not allowed to be brought onboard to be consumed. The exception is if you are at a port of call and you purchase a bottle of liquor or spirit, you are able to bring it back to the ship, but it will be stored until the end of the cruise.
Disney Cruise Line allows Guests over the age of 21 (or over the age of 18 for round-trip sailings in Australia and New Zealand) to bring a maximum of 2 bottles of wine or sparkling wine/champagne (no more than 750 mL) or 6 beers (no more than 12 ounces) onboard. On Embarkation Day, just be sure to have these in your carry-on bags and not in your checked luggage.
There is a
Beer Mug Savings Package if you enjoy lounging by the pool with a cold, refreshing beer in hand. With this package, you’ll receive a beer mug (which makes a nice souvenir to bring home) that you can take to any onboard bar and get a 21-ounce beer refill for the price of a 16-ounce. If you don’t want to carry your beer mug around throughout the sailing, you can ask for a beer mug token which allows you to redeem at a bar when you’re ready for your next beer.
You can also purchase wine packages (ranging from 3 to 7 bottles, classic or premium) prior to your cruise through the
Onboard Gifts page. These wines will be available for you to enjoy in the main dining room during dinner. If you’re unable to finish the bottle in one sitting, you can either take it with you back to your stateroom to enjoy, or your dining room servers will save it for the next night’s dinner. At the end of your cruise, you’re allowed to bring home up to 2 bottles of unopened wine if you are not able to finish them during dinner.
Be sure to check out the different
beverage tasting seminars offered during your sailing, especially if you enjoy vodka and tequila! I enjoy gin but do not know much about it; however, I learned a great deal about gin when I took a seminar during a recent cruise on the Disney Fantasy. I had a great experience and it was neat learning the different ways to enjoy a particular spirit!
Lea, I wish you a fun-filled, magical sailing! If you have more questions, please don’t hesitate to sail by
planDisney again.
Hope to SEA ya real soon,
Kiki
