Hi again, Barbara. Welcome back to planDisney, and thank you for such a great follow-up question. I’d be happy to help you out here.
The
Minnie Van Service is one of my favorite ways to get around Walt Disney World Resort. It’s run through the Lyft app, but the vehicles are Disney-owned, driven by friendly Cast Members, and decked out with those iconic red polka dots. What I love most, beyond the convenience, is the little extras, like kid-friendly car seats ready to go, interactive screens in the back, and the fact that the Cast Members know Disney property inside and out. My kids always get a kick out of spotting the vans, and I’ve found that it just adds another layer of fun to getting from place to place.
Now, because this service is limited to a smaller fleet of vehicles compared to the seemingly endless pool of standard Lyft or Uber drivers, waits can sometimes be a bit longer. To be safe, I recommend pulling up the app about 45 minutes before you’d ideally like to leave. That way, you can gauge availability and book when you’re comfortable. I generally suggest booking no later than 30 minutes before your planned departure, especially if you’re on a tighter schedule, like heading to a
dining reservation or a show. If for any reason you’re not seeing availability, you’ll still have time to switch over to another rideshare option or even hop on one of Disney’s
complimentary transportation options.
Barbara, it’s been a pleasure helping you with your planning questions, and I hope this helps you feel even more prepared. Keep them coming. I’d love to help make sure your visit to
Walt Disney World Resort is practically perfect.
TTFN,
Brent
