Hi I am thinking about planing a trip to Disney in June but I have a 6 month old cavapoo is it ok to bring him to Disney

    Hiya Danielle,

Welcome to planDisney! Aww, congratulations on your little four-legged friend! Our dog Sloopy is not just a pet; he’s a part of our family. Before the two Mouseketeers, wherever we went, Sloopy came along, too. This means Sloopy has been to the Most Magical Place on Earth more times than most children.

The great news, Danielle, is that your little cavapoo is definitely welcome to accompany you on your magical vacation! At Walt Disney World Resort, four resort hotels are dog-friendly, and your pup can stay. They are: Art of Animation, Port Orleans- Riverside, Yacht Club, and The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort. Each has designated pet relief areas, green space for walks, and a welcome gift from Pluto! Usually, I would recommend Port Orleans – Riverside because it is peaceful and one of my favorite resorts, but since your pup is so young, you will likely want to be closer so you can check on him more frequently. For that reason, I suggest staying at Yacht Club for its proximity to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

Danielle, my pup, is more than a little anti-social, so he was happy to enjoy time in the room alone. We just followed the pet policies and didn't leave him unattended in the room for more than 7 hours. But since your puppy is so young, he may prefer more interaction with others (it may also make you feel more comfortable while enjoying the theme parks), so I suggest getting a reservation at Best Friends Pet Hotel. You can do daycare for your puppy and let him make new friends (or enjoy some time in one of the private spaces if he’s like my pup) while you are at the theme parks. If we were doing a more extended day, we would do that and then come stop by and check on our dog during the day so he didn’t think we left him.

I hope this was helpful, Danielle. Before I let you go, as a reminder, your little cavapoo will need to be up to date on all vaccinations in order to stay in the resort hotel. If you are planning to enroll him in pet daycare, you will want to get in your reservation ASAP. Space does tend to fill up fast. If there is anything else we can do to help, please come back and see us.

    Happy Planning,
