Hi there, Chris!
Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question. We love helping Guests plan their time in the magic at the Happiest Place on Earth, made even happier with the
70th Anniversary in full swing!
Happy to report that your wife can absolutely manage selecting and booking
Lightning Lanes for you both from her
Disneyland app. You'll just need to ensure that your theme park ticket is linked to her account, which we can easily check! If her account was used to purchase the tickets, then it should already be linked. Have her open the app and head to the three-line icon in the bottom right-hand corner to select "My Tickets & Passes". In here, she will see any theme park tickets linked to her account by scrolling left to right. If you happened to purchase your ticket separately, not to worry, simply tap the "+" in the top right-hand corner to "Link Tickets and Passes". Here you can enter the ticket ID number found in your purchase confirmation email. Once that's complete, double-check that you can see both of your tickets in "My Tickets & Passes". If so, you are all set for a magical day in the parks!
Once you scan through the Main Entrance Gate, you can book your first Lightning Lane. Have your wife return to the app's homepage and tap the "+" in the bottom navigation bar, then select "Book Lightning Lane Entry". This will take you directly to the Tip Board, where you can view current wait times and the next available return window for Lightning Lanes. Once you've selected an attraction, you'll note that you will have the opportunity to choose who you are booking for in the event that you and your wife may want to book separate Lightning Lanes. This can all be done from her app. I am usually the planner in my family and manage all of our Lightning Lanes from my phone, including those for my husband and two kiddos.
While you are making your plans, I recommend checking out the
Entertainment Schedule so you can take a look at all the daytime and nighttime offerings from parades to fireworks to projection shows. There is so much energy in the parks right now that you won't want to miss a beat! The
Paint the Night Parade is a must-see for me and my family—quintessential Disneyland magic, lights, music, and storytelling! I recommend grabbing a spot by "it's a small world" and timing it to also catch the new 70th Anniversary projection show "
Tapestry of Happiness"! This is a modern, yet nostalgic journey through 70 years of magic.
Chris, I'm sending you on your way with some faith, trust, and pixie dust for an unforgettable visit! If you have any more questions, my planDisney pals and I are always here for you with a friendly tip or two. Stop by to see us anytime.
Magic awaits!
Tara
