Hi Catherine! Welcome to planDisney!
I'm excited to hear about your holiday to the
Walt Disney World Resort next year! Visiting for an extended period of time allows you to enjoy everything the parks and resorts have to offer.
At this time, Disney has not announced which water park will be open when Guests arrive in February 2026. Typically, one water park is operating at a time while refurbishments are being performed on the other. For the first time in several years, both
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and
Disney's Blizzard Beach are open at the same time. One of them is scheduled to close in early September, although that information is unknown at this time as well. Your best bet will be to follow along with the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest announcements.
Catherine, regardless of which water park is open during your stay, you're guaranteed to have an amazing time. There are similar aspects to each one, including a version of a wave pool and a lazy river. However, the theming and additional attractions are vastly specific to each park. You'll find the world's tallest and fastest free-fall water slide at Blizzard Beach.
Summit Plummet sits at the top of an ice-capped mountain and is as thrilling an attraction as you will find. At Typhoon Lagoon, the
Crush 'n' Gusher is perfect for two Guests to ride together for the ultimate thrills.
I hope you have a fantastic time planning for your holiday next year! With everything that goes into the planning process, getting a head start is a great idea.
