We are visiting on September 21st and there is a Halloween event that night. We are planning on being in the Magic Kingdom all day and I was wondering if we need to buy the event tickets to stay until the park closes?

Happy Haunts and welcome to planDisney, Angelique!

You are in for a spooktacular day of fun! So why not carry it into the evening with a night enjoying Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party? It’s not too late to purchase your tickets for this haunting evening. If you’re thinking about it, I encourage you to do it sooner rather than later.

I did take a look at the hours for Magic Kingdom on September 21, 2025, and there is a party that day. Which means with your standard theme park ticket, you can enjoy Magic Kingdom until closing time, which is 6:00 P.M. After that, if you wish to continue the fun at Magic Kingdom, you’ll have to purchase a ticket to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Another option you have is to park hop if you have a park hopper theme park ticket. I recommend taking a look at the theme park hours before planning where to hop. If I were you, I’d head over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to end the night with a viewing of Fantasmic!.

If you don’t have park hopper tickets, ending the day early is always a good option. You can schedule a dining reservation at a neighboring resort, like the Polynesian, to enjoy dinner at ‘Ohana. After dinner, heading back to your resort for an early evening means you’ll be refreshed and ready to go the next day.

My family and I were in the parks yesterday, and we left Hollywood Studios around 6:00 P.M. to head over to Port Orleans-French Quarter for the Ghoolish Beignets. It was the perfect amount of time to enjoy dinner, dessert, and head back to our resort for our early drive home. My husband and I have discovered that those quiet moments outside the theme parks but still inside Walt Disney World Resort have led to the most magical memories. We really get to soak in all that family time together in our favorite place. I highly recommend trying something different once Magic Kingdom closes if you don't purchase tickets to the party.

Amanda, I hope this helps answer your question so that you can plan for the rest of the day. If you need any more ideas on what you can do outside the theme parks, just ask. We here are happy to share our must-dos outside the theme parks.

    See ya real soon,
