Hello, I just wanted to make sure that taking photos in a cap and gown for high school graduation was allowed at disneyland Anaheim. I will be having a friend take photos with her canon eos 6d mark 2 for non commercial purposes, and will not be paying her.

Hi there, Mayra. Welcome to planDisney, and congratulations on your upcoming graduation! What an exciting time!

I love taking milestone photographs inside the Disneyland theme parks, so I understand wanting to mark this joyous occasion with Disney magic. As long as you follow the Disneyland Resort Dress Code and Park Rules, you should be okay to bring your cap and gown into the parks. There is a list on what is and isn't allowed that I recommend checking before your visit.

A couple of the points that should be especially noted are:

    • Excessively torn clothing or loose-fitting clothing, which may drag on the ground and create a potential trip hazard
    • Clothing with multiple layers is subject to search upon entry

Please understand that the final say on the matter will be with the Cast Members, and that Guests who do not adhere to these guidelines "may be refused entry into, and/or removed from, the event, unless his or her costume can be modified to meet the above standards."

Mayra, here are some places and locations that I think would be amazing for graduation photos:

    Disneyland
    Sleeping Beauty Castle
    Mark Twain Riverboat
    Adventureland sign
    Disneyland Railroad
    Galaxy's Edge
    Matterhorn

    California Adventure
    Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
Paradise Gardens Park with Pal-A-Round in the background
    Pixar Pier
Entrance to Cars Land from San Fransokyo Square with Radiator Springs Racers in the background
    Hollywood Land

In my experience, the best time to snap photos is right as the parks open for the day. This will give you the lowest crowd levels and really pretty lighting. However, my planDisney pal Alison would say that lingering at park closing and taking photos at night with the castle in the background is absolutely iconic. Whichever you choose, I hope it's everything you wished for and more.

If you have any other questions, please stop back by. We're all ears!

    See ya real soon,
    Melissa
