Hi Jessica! Welcome back to planDisney. Spending time at one of the
water parks at
Walt Disney World Resort is a fantastic way to add a little splash of fun to your vacation. Whether you’re drifting along a lazy river or racing down a twisting slide, it’s the perfect way to cool off in the Florida sunshine. I’m happy to help you get ready to take the plunge!
The good news is that the answer to your question is yes. Water shoes are allowed at
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and
Disney’s Blizzard Beach, and they’re actually a great idea for many Guests. Florida sunshine can warm up walkways pretty quickly, so water shoes can help protect little (and grown-up) feet from hot pavement while you’re making your way between attractions. They also make walking around the water areas more comfortable and can give you a little extra traction on wet surfaces.
You’ll even be able to wear your water shoes on many attractions. That said, there are a few of the faster body slides where Cast Members may ask you to remove them for safety reasons. In those cases, you can usually hold onto them during the ride.
If water shoes didn’t make it into your suitcase, no worries. Both water parks offer a selection of water shoes and other swim essentials for purchase, so you can easily pick up a pair once you arrive.
Since you’re planning ahead, here’s another helpful tip. Guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel between May 26 and September 8 can enjoy
complimentary water park admission on their check-in day. It’s a fun way to kick off your vacation before even stepping into the theme parks. If you decide to take advantage of that perk, just remember that luggage is not permitted inside the water parks or on Disney bus transportation. The good news is that Bell Services at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel can safely store your bags for you. If your room isn’t ready yet, you can check your luggage there and have it delivered to your room when you return later in the day.
Jessica, I hope this helps as you prepare for your visit. If any other questions pop up while you’re planning, please stop by and see us again at planDisney. We’re always happy to help!
Wishing you a visit filled with sunshine, splashes, and plenty of relaxing float time!
