Hi Danielle and welcome back to planDisney! What an incredible trip you have planned with your students! As a middle school teacher myself, I have to admit that I am absolutely green with envy. This has been my bucket list field trip
forever! EPCOT is a place where curiosity meets creativity and imagination, and I can’t imagine a better classroom than one where learning comes to life with a side of Disney magic!
You are visiting during a perfect time with the
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts! Your students will have so much to see and do. Let’s start with your question about the
Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game. This game is a big hit and such a fun addition to the festival this year because it involves strategy, a little friendly competition, and that magical Disney flair. That will be hard to pass up for teens and tweens!
The first thing you’ll want to do is take your students to pick up a Festival Questbook on the bridge to the World Showcase. This is on the main walkway between Future World and the international pavilions. At that location, they should also be able to pick up a complimentary booster pack of
Disney Lorcana cards. The Questbook will list the Lorcana activities at the Festival of the Arts, along with a collection quest associated with the game. Then when they have completed the activities, they can head to the Morocco Pavilion to find the Illumineer’s Lounge, where they can trade and pick up Magical Places promo cards. The lounge is in the location of the former Restaurant Marrakesh in the back of the pavilion.
Disney Lorcana a fun challenge they won’t be able to resist!
Other festival highlights that your students may enjoy are the DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series, along with the Once Upon A Stage: The Magic of DISNEY ON BROADWAY exhibit that showcases props, costumes, and other behind-the-scenes magic. My favorite festival activity that I think your students will love is the Animation Academy held in the America Gardens Theatre daily at 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. They can learn to draw a Disney character and then take their drawing home as a special souvenir!
Danielle, I hope this helps as you draw up a plan that is filled with learning and imagination for your students! If you have any other questions, please
send them my way. I am here to help you paint the perfect EPCOT adventure that is filled with pixie dust for you and your students!
