Hi Ken,
Congratulations on reaching this milestone! Your happily ever after story was off to a great start at Walt Disney World, and I’m so happy you’re adding even more magic to your love story by visiting Disneyland for your anniversary.
While the Disneyland Resort does not offer anything specifically for
celebrating anniversaries, when you visit the parks this holiday season, there are a few ways you can add some magical touches to your celebration.
Complimentary SouvenirBefore you get your day started, head over to Town Hall to pick up a complimentary “Happily Ever After” button to celebrate your anniversary. You can also find these buttons at the shops on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland or on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure. You and your wife can wear these buttons around the parks, and I’m sure you’ll receive plenty of congratulations from Cast Members—and even fellow Guests. With any luck, a little extra pixie dust may come your way! These buttons also make adorable keepsakes and great photo props.
Photo ExcursionSpeaking of photos, Disney PhotoPass previously offered a “Photo Excursion” package for Guests, which included a 10- to 15-minute photo session with a Disney PhotoPass photographer in one of the lands. I recommend asking a PhotoPass photographer (they usually wear green vests) to see if this option is still available. It would be a wonderful opportunity for you and your wife to capture some beautiful photos together—especially with all the festive holiday décor throughout the parks.
Even if this experience is no longer offered, no worries! PhotoPass photographers are stationed throughout the parks, and you can use the Disneyland app to locate them. You’ll find some fantastic photo opportunities near Sleeping Beauty Castle or along Main Street, U.S.A., where much of the Christmas décor can be found.
Personalized SouvenirIf you’re looking for another special keepsake to mark the occasion, consider purchasing leather Mickey ears for you and your wife. Recently, the shops have begun carrying a white version of the ears, which, when paired with the classic black Mickey ears, create a charming, wedding-inspired look. You might also consider a holiday ornament that can be personalized to commemorate the year you celebrated your anniversary at Disneyland.
Both items can be customized with hand-painted designs at Plaza Point in Disneyland or at Julius Katz & Sons in California Adventure. Each shop has a design book to choose from, and I’ve seen several options that would be perfect for celebrating a wedding anniversary. These make wonderful personalized gifts to take home.
Romantic DinnerI checked
dining reservations across Disneyland and California Adventure for December 17, and there are still several great options available for your travel dates. One of my personal favorites is dinner at Carthay Circle Lounge. The ambiance is elegant and creates a very romantic setting. If you’re seated outdoors, you may even catch a glimpse of the Mariachi procession. When making your reservation online, be sure to note that you’re celebrating your anniversary.
I hope this adds a little extra magic to your anniversary, Ken! Please don’t hesitate to reach out again if you have more questions for future trips. We here at planDisney are always happy to sprinkle some pixie dust on your next celebration.
Have a magical anniversary!
